Most bloggers should be familiar with how hard it is to come up with blogging material, especially for something as niche as rectangles. That said, January is a month I've historically done wonders with in terms of producing content. Mainly because the holiday break at the end of the previous year and a good chunk of the first week of the month can provide a lot of downtime to just write about a whole slew of topics that had been fermenting in my mind for months but had yet to be written down.
For the most part the posts published this past month were already written back in December of 2017. I was just pumping them out left and right. You all could probably tell because the quality was bad on a lot of them, moreso than usual.
I still have a few more posts lined up but they're saved for times when I struggle to blog even once a week (which is usually around June-July-August). Gives me a lot of time to go back and really fix any punctuation, spelling and grammar issues they might have (only to miss most of them until the post is finally published :P).
Now comes the scary part, following it up in February :P.
In my personal life this past January wasn't very good. In fact this whole winter hasn't been very good to me. I think part of the reason I blogged so much in December was to take my mind off of my real life issues. But now that I'm over the hump (sort of), I'm left in this weird state where I just don't want to do anything. But then when I don't do anything I feel lazy and feel even worse. Blarg. I might as well continue to write. About what though? I'm not sure.
Of course the obvious loophole (that I exploited back in 2016 too) is that the limit only applies to sports cards. As well as some types of non-sport cards. You know what doesn't apply?
Gaming cards.
Only problem is that I don't find gaming cards to be that much fun to blog about. I like Yu-Gi-Oh! but I've only played it on and off very casually over the years. I've tried creating posts centered on it in the past but halfway through writing all of them I've often found that it's a lot more fun playing YGO than it is talking about it. Which is a nice change from the mindset I have with baseball/hockey cards but it doesn't translate well to blogging material. Hence why I think I only have like two(?) posts about YGO now.
Still, the artwork can be nice sometimes and can tell a pretty interesting story so I could make up stories about that.
Lots of stories.
Ugh, this post is a mess.
Basically, I'm not sure what's going to come on this blog. Maybe some hockey? Maybe some non-sports/gaming cards? I just might do more topics that I kind of care about, a lot of you seemed to really take to my Uncanny Valley post.
So many ideas. So few of them that are actually worthy of going on to be full fledged creations.
