Hard to believe that we are nearly at the end of July. The weather has continued hot and dry. It's almost like the end of August, as far as the garden goes.
The bees have made the most of the heat. Most days there is the sound of constant buzzing. Honey production should be good.
Looking from above everything is still looking lush. The rainy weekend just gone, really perked everything up, including the grass.
The trumpet vine is rampant in the heat.
As is the Oleander.
Agapanthus are fully out and lapping up the hot dry weather. All around the island they have looked magnificent.
The Abelia is fully in flower and smells beautiful. No wonder the bees are so attracted to it.
Down in the shady lower garden the Japanese anemones are just emerging. Their white petals glow in the gloom.
Canary creeper has twined through the white roses in the holly tree. Hopefully next year the creeper will self seed.
I'm pleased with my spring seeds. The scabious has really got going, although most of them are white. As for the hollyhocks I grew, they are mostly pink.
