| 100 Thieves makes its entire apparel line available in Animal Crossing - The Verge Posted: 06 Apr 2020 03:04 PM PDT Apparel drops from 100 Thieves, a lifestyle and esports organization, are notoriously hard to get in on. Whenever the company releases a new hoodie or jersey, it sells out almost immediately. But there's a new way to get some 100 Thieves gear, and it's not only easy, but cheap: download it in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Today, the company released virtual versions of every single piece they've released to date, spanning three years. As with all user-created items in New Horizons, you can download the designs for free by entering the proper creator code; the codes for all the gear can be found here, organized by the year the items were first released in the real world.
Of course, there's nothing to stop users from making their own. The creation aspect is a huge part of New Horizons, and people have been making everything from team jerseys to band t-shirts. (I once spent an afternoon trying to recreate my favorite Toronto FC kit in the game, with less-than-ideal results.) But the sheer scale of 100 Thieves' release is impressive. At the very least, it'll give fans a chance to pick up some clothes they missed out on IRL — and without the big lines or price tag. |
| Posted: 06 Apr 2020 04:59 AM PDT Shinesty's "Quarantine Collection" features "pajameralls" for working from home, themed women's underwear, and "ball hammock briefs" for men. (Photos courtesy Shinesty) Social distancing temporarily has forced party clothes out of style. That was a problem for Boulder-based apparel company Shinesty, maker of denim swimsuits, loud holiday-themed clothing and ski suits in a variety of boisterous designs. "Everything we created beforehand really stopped working," said Jens Nicolaysen, who co-founded the company in 2014. "People stopped resonating with party outfits." After noticing a 50% to 60% sales decline in their mainstay items, and a huge hit to St. Patrick's Day and Derby-themed products, Nicolaysen said the company had to think differently. Enter the company's "Quarantine Collection," which launched on March 16 featuring soft and comfortable clothing to wear while working at home. The collection includes "pajameralls," an assortment of robes and flamboyant "ball hammock briefs" for men, which Nicolaysen said are his personal favorite. "This new collection speaks to everybody's daily reality," Nicolaysen said. "We are working from home. We are social distancing." Nicolaysen founded Shinesty alongside CEO Chris White and Michelle Frey-Tarbox, director of operations. So far, he said, every major product line in the collection has grown week to week, in part because the company has learned how to market its new "subdued" clothing to Shinesty's usual party customers. Nicolaysen said the company has been able to retain its staff of 50 employees, as well as continue operating its distribution center just north of Denver city limits. "I think if our team has one goal during this situation it's just to help people get through this really trying time," he said. "We hope you guys get as much of a kick out of it as we have making it." |

[+] LightRocket via Getty ImagesThe Coronavirus crisis has hit the apparel industry hard. The companies have had to temporarily shutter their stores and it remains unclear as to when they can open them again, as the pandemic continues to spread, particularly in Europe and the U.S., which are the largest markets for apparel companies. Athletic apparel companies, in particular, have taken investors' brunt as the cancellation of major sporting events including the Olympics, NBA and Euro 2020 expected to materially impact their top line over the coming months. Under Armour and Nike, two athletic apparel companies with a major stake in global sports events, have seen their stock prices decline by -53% and -11%, respectively, since early February. Our analysis Is Under Armour Expensive Or Cheap After A -52.6% Move vs Nike? compares the stock price performance and fundamentals of the two companies over the last few years, and helps us conclude that Nike is in a much better position than Under Armour to weather the storm. Despite Under Armour's Attractive Valuation, Nike Looks The Better Bet There has been a stark contrast between the fundamental performance of the two companies over the last five years. Although Under Armour's annualized revenue growth of 11.9% has been higher than that of Nike's 7.1%, Nike has grown consistently over the years while a bulk of Under Armour's growth came over 2015-2016. Moreover, Under Armour's EPS has shrunk 27.2% over the last 5 years while Nike's EPS has increased 10.9% over this period. Under Armour is currently trading at 40.8x based on last year's earnings while Nike trades at 26.5x. Although Under Armour's valuation looks attractive on a historical basis, Nike's relatively higher cash reserves ($3.1 billion vs about $0.8 billion for UA), and better geographic diversification, could help it cope with the crisis better. Additionally, China - which is Nike's most profitable geographical segment - has recovered from the impact of coronavirus and looks poised to achieve growth over the coming quarters. To sum things up, while the overall outlook for both the companies remains uncertain, Nike, given its stronger balance sheet, geographical reach, and a better product portfolio, seems to be in a far better position compared to its smaller rival Under Armour. | Los Angeles Apparel Is the Latest Fashion Brand to Start Manufacturing Face Masks - Yahoo News Posted: 06 Apr 2020 04:00 PM PDT Click here to read the full article. Los Angeles Apparel is the latest fashion player to funnel its resources into making face masks as a response to Covid-19. Founded by the (very controversial) former CEO of American Apparel, Dov Charney, Los Angeles Apparel is striving to manufacture 300,000 face masks as public health officials encourage the use of face coverings during the novel coronavirus pandemic. More from Robb Report "Initially, we started seeing a shortage of masks on the market, and many of our employees use masks while they're sewing," Charney told Los Angeleno. "So we started to toy with the idea." The businessman has poured nearly $1 million in mask-making equipment and safety measures thus far. The style is, aptly, utilitarian. Coming in a pack of three, each one is made from 100 percent cotton French terry cloth with two straps to secure around the wearer's head and neck. A concealed piece of wire at the top of the mask allows it to contour securely across the nose. And, it's comforting to know, all fabric is laundered prior to construction. Information from the government and international health officials regarding masks for the general public has been murky until recently. Though cloth masks will not offer the same level of protection as a surgical mask or N95 mask, authorities have ultimately recommended their use when social distancing is not possible, like when you and someone you don't live with are walking down the same aisle at the grocery store. Los Angeles Apparel's website states that all mask purchases will fund the production of more masks that will be donated to workers providing essential services. You can buy a pack of three for $30. | Posted: 06 Apr 2020 01:12 PM PDT NEWBERRY, Mich. (WLUC) - As cases of COVID-19 continue to spread in Upper Michigan, healthcare workers and first responders are getting even busier. That's why many local businesses have stepped up to help. The stickers are available for just $6 and come in a variety of colors.906 Motor Sports Custom Apparel in Newberry makes heat transfer vinyl designs that go on anything from glass to clothes, and even camping equipment. When owners Bryan and Lisa Foster heard about the Facebook group 'Hearts for hope,' they decided to make a new design. "So I took the Upper Peninsula and put hearts in it, and put 'Yooper Strong' around it," said Bryan. That design is now available on their website, on stickers, sweaters, hats, and license plates. "It's honestly endless options," said Lisa. "We can heat press on pretty much anything, and the stickers, they can go anywhere." The Fosters say that 60% of the proceeds from items with the 'Yooper Strong' heart design will go to healthcare workers and first responders around the Luce County area. "I've already donated $450 to Luce County EMS, and today I'm donating $450 to Luce County Fire Department," said Bryan. The Fosters say that as long as there is a demand for their design, they will keep making them and making donations. "We were both born and raised in this community and it's a great place to live and it's a very caring community," said Lisa. "Anything we can do to give back, it's just a good feeling." Everything can be purchased online at 906motorsports.com, and items can be delivered anywhere in the country. "They can choose to pick it up if they like, or I ship everything for $2. I don't care what it is, I'll ship it," said Bryan. The Fosters say they have been slammed with orders the past few days, but they're excited to be working so hard. "It's just our contribution, like, thanks for being out there and putting yourself in jeopardy in this hard time that everybody is going through," said Lisa. |
