6 Memphis Makers We’re Loving
Urban Hardware Designs
Urban Hardware Designs began more than two decades ago as J.P. O’Dell made jewelry using wire from her dad’s hardware store. That early freedom to create from the unexpected helped mold her designs into what they are today. She loves a bold pop of color and feels called to create something that makes women feel good about themselves — and her fun and fierce designs do just that.
One of our favorites from Urban Hardware, The Athena, features mother of pearl, a gold plated hoop and a turquoise howlite crescent. We love the ethereal, unique design of this piece. Find it for $88 in SB Shop.
genuinely, g designs
Gracie Lawrence, owner of Memphis-based genuinely, g designs, is an ultra-talented artist and boss babe who sells custom stationery, greeting cards, invitations and more. She creates sweet, special and unique pieces that celebrate life’s most precious events, including weddings.
Some of our favorite products from genuinely, g designs are the custom gift tags, monogrammed wedding cups, and bridesmaid, flower girl and Maid of Honor invitations and notecards. You can find her sets of 25 notecards, in four precious designs, for $40 each in SB Shop.
Shotwell Candy
If you haven’t given Shotwell Candy caramels a try yet, you are missing out. These sweet and salty goodies are handcrafted with simple, fresh ingredients and timeless methods. The caramels are Memphis-based Jerrod Smith’s life’s work and legacy and have been featured in major publications like Southern Living and Garden & Gun, and they have been loved by Martha Stewart herself.
Our favorite Shotwell Candy caramel flavor is the Hand-Crushed Espresso, which is infused with a blend of Latin American and Ethiopian coffees roasted in Memphis by French Truck Coffee, natural vanilla, and then finished with a sprinkling of hand-crushed espresso beans and sea salt. The Bourbon & Maple Pecan caramels are a close second favorite followed by the classic Sea Salted Caramel. Find a custom set of three boxes, in the flavors of your choosing, for $29.95 in SB Shop.

Amy Wells Designs
Designer and artist Amy Wells is the owner of Memphis-based Amy Wells Designs. Her love of all things rustic combined with her passion for design created the perfect marriage for her jewelry and has continued to do so for more than a decade. The best way to describe Amy’s unique jewelry is “free-spirited.” Each piece is handcrafted using natural gemstones, freshwater pearls, Thai silver, sterling silver, other mixed metals and fine leather. The amazing color variations in the stones and the diversity of organic shapes mean no two pieces are exactly alike.
Amy’s entire collection speaks to the simple, yet statement-making jewelry trend of the season, but we are particularly drawn to her gold bronze teardrop hoop earrings. You can find them for $80 in SB Shop.
Erika Roberts Studio
Erika Roberts creates modern art, in rich watercolor, in her Memphis studio. Her art is unique and nostalgic calling to the beauty of each of the skylines she paints while nodding to current home decor and gift trends. Not only does she paint vibrant, thoughtful designs for her fine art prints, she also showcases her designs on high-quality, absorbent and 100% cotton tea towels creating the perfect gift for a hostess, Memphis-lover or whoever is on your list this year.
Find her fine art prints (in Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville skylines) for $34, and tea towels (also in Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville designs) for $24 in SB Shop.
Tilton Street
Tilton Street is the ultimate celebration of women. Founder and designer Betsy Hill creates one-of-a-kind pieces known for their vibrant colors and unique design. Using artisanal materials, she designs detailed pieces that are simultaneously classic and on-trend. Her earrings are beloved in the Memphis community and made by women for women with the intention of focusing on each beautiful attribute that make women special.
While all of Betsy’s pieces make us swoon, these floral stud drop earrings stand out for their feminine, subtle design that will immediately elevate any look. The rose gold floral is accented by a mother of pearl drop that’s both sophisticated and glamorous. And, for $58, these are an affordable addition to your jewelry collection. Find them in SB Shop here.
